Our story

Built by someone who lived the problem

I spent four years as a CFO at early-stage startups. Every week, I'd spend 6–8 hours pulling data from different systems, cleaning spreadsheets, and building the same charts in Notion that I'd built the week before.

The founders I worked with were smart, driven people running real businesses. But they were making decisions on last month's numbers, because that was the best available. By the time we spotted a food cost spike or a customer acquisition problem, we'd already lost €10K–20K we didn't need to lose.

Milton is the tool I wish I'd had. It doesn't replace business judgment — it gives you the information fast enough to actually act on it.

We built it for SMBs because that's where the gap is biggest. Enterprise companies have data teams and expensive BI tools. A restaurant group or fitness studio shouldn't need either. They should just be able to upload their POS export on Monday morning and know exactly where they stand.

What we believe

No black boxes

Every insight Milton surfaces shows you the data behind it. You always know why Milton is telling you something, not just what it's telling you.

Speed is the product

A business owner who knows their food cost is trending wrong on Tuesday can do something about it. One who finds out at month-end cannot. Timeliness isn't a feature — it's the point.

Built for owners, not analysts

Our users are restaurateurs, studio owners, and e-commerce founders. Not CFOs. The interface reflects that — no jargon, no configuration, no SQL.

Your data is yours

We don't sell it. We don't train models on it. You can export or delete everything at any time. This should be table stakes — for us, it's a non-negotiable.
